Since January 28th, four objects, including a suspected Chinese spy balloon, were all shot down by the U.S. military. The first balloon entered the U.S. airspace on January 28th from the coast of Alaska, a second flying object entered Alaska on February 9th, a third one entered Canadian air space on February 10th, and a fourth flying object flew over Lake Huron. There are different theories regarding the purpose of the flying objects. American officials are convinced that the balloon was a Chinese machine meant to conduct civilian on American military bases, but the details to the objects are still very much unclear. All of the flying unmanned objects were shot down by F-35 and F-22 fighter jets. The suspicions regarding the "spy balloon" are not yet confirmed, but the U.S. military described it as a "Chinese reconnaissance vessel." Chinese officials claimed that the balloon was a "civilian unmanned airship" and criticized the U.S. government for destroying it. The incident has sparked outrage among American officials, who have accused the Chinese government of using spy balloons to gather sensitive information and compromise national security. The balloons' debris have been retrieved, but there are no confirmed information on the contents of the balloon. In response to the incident, the US government has announced plans to increase funding for national security and to take steps to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
