In the town of Moscow, Idaho, a criminology Ph.D. student is the suspect of the murder of four University of Idaho students. Mr. Kohberger, the suspect, posted about his mental health difficulties in an online forum in 2011 when he was 16. In the post, he reported seeing "nothing" when he looked at his own family. He is also facing the death sentence for the deaths of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin on November 13, 2007.
Monroe County Chief Public Defender Jason LaBar told CNN that Kohberger was arrested at his parents' residence in Pennsylvania. The attorney stated that the white Elantra that investigators were seeking in connection with the deaths was also at the parents' residence.
He is still facing the death sentence for the deaths of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin on November 13, 2007. On Thursday, the 28-year-old criminology PhD student appeared in court with multiple tiny wounds on his face. Kohberger consented to renounce his right to a rapid preliminary hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 26.
