Two years after the former president was permanently banned on Twitter “due to the risk of further incitement of violence” following the January 6th attack at the capital, CEO Elon Musk reversed the ban on the former president. The decision comes after Musk polled his users on whether the former president should be allowed back onto the platform. And after over 51% of the voters said yes, Musk tweeted, “The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated.”
The ban comes almost a week after Mr. Trump announced his bid for the President of The United States on Tuesday, 11/15, a move that sparked many criticisms from leaders of his own party.
Despite being unbanned, Trump had commented before and suggested that he would not move back to Twitter. Instead, the former president opted to stay on TruthSocial, a platform Trump has been using since his Twitter ban was enforced.
